Pink Flowering Tea Plant

Sinensis Rosea pink is the plant from which we obtain the beverage tea. This rare pink form is not only beautiful and useful as a privacy hedge however can be used to produce tea. The new growth on this variety is reddish purple in color. Like all camellias grow in well drained soil with plenty of mulch and water well over Summer.

Plant in nearly full sun in hot dry areas plant in morning sun only position in average to well-drained, non-alkaline soils that has been worked well and is light and free draining. In heavier clay soils you will need to work the soil for the roots to establish well.

Tolerant of winter chill and drought to a stronger degree than the more ornamental camellias protect from severe frosts whilst young and hot dry summers.

Responds well to trimming and grows well in a large pot.
